A Quote by Brené Brown
I came across a quote by Brené Brown the other day that stopped me in my tracks. I copied it on a post-it note, which then went up on a kitchen cabinet where I see it, and read it, constantly:
“You either walk inside your story and own it, or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.”
The quote makes me think of how I FINALLY came out of the spiritual closet to bring YMS into form.
It makes me think of a reading with a woman last week who spoke of intentionally being on her own for a couple of years to get to her core self before entering into another relationship.
It makes me think of a friend who is having a difficult time finding a job that fits him.
It makes me think of politicians who are too afraid to stand in their own truth.
It makes me think of artists and musicians who stubbornly listen to their own voices, no matter what.
It makes me think of open hearted twenty-five year olds who choose to start social enterprises rather than enter the corporate field.
There’s not one of us who hasn’t hidden part of who we are at one time or another. But a big part of the spiritual journey is looking deep within and opening up fully to our truth. It’s releasing long held layers so that we become more transparent. It’s liking our Self, loving our Self, and even more so, respecting our Self.
A quote from one of my guides to close:
“Be in and of your energy so that we can find you there.”
