Welcome the Softening
It’s easy to be hard in the world.
It’s much harder to be soft.
You have to be strong enough to be soft.
Being soft doesn’t mean being a pushover. You’re liable to get beat up by the world if you’re too pliable.
It means realizing there is much in life you don’t know, and will never know this time around.
It means letting your eyes linger when looking outwards, seeing more than your first glance.
It means responding with compassion rather than judgement.
Yet it also means standing solidly in your truth, with clear boundaries.
When you’re on the spiritual journey, it’s a given you’re going to be softened in the process. The hard encasement drops away, either willingly or through gritted teeth.
Welcome your softening, it wouldn’t happen unless you were strong enough for it.
