Signs for Seekers
Wouldn’t it be great if a large neon sign pointed out your spiritual path?
Signs are how we find our way on earth. Directions and informational signs are everywhere. Stores, businesses, churches, schools, streets, airports, construction, events—you name it, there’s usually a sign for it.
Where’s the sign for a spiritual passage? It’s a journey that thousands of people embark on every year, joining others already on the path. You would think there would be directions with so many of us doing this.
The good news is there are signs. The bad news is there is no flashing neon sign that marks the exact way.
This is because the passage doesn’t happen outside of you (where a physical sign would hang). It happens inside of you. And your spiritual passage is specifically personalized to your life; no two people will have the same experience.
Signs will show up in different ways: from nudges, feelings, thoughts and aha moments to numbers, animals and synchronicities. Along the way there will be bad experiences and good experiences, you’ll bump into mean people and kind people, and you’ll have times of isolation and times of connection. It’s a very full journey that can take a long time. And signs will pop up along the way, no matter how long it takes.
The main thing is that you trust:
You trust yourself
You trust the process
You trust the Divine (Source, the Universe, God, Goddess, Great Spirit — your choice)
Because this is an internal process, you’ll need to be able to hear/see/read the signs. This is why a large part of the process is letting go of belief overlays that distort the connection with Source, as well as with your higher self (aka Your Mythic Self).
You’re going to want to dismiss what you receive at times because your history or your perception of yourself or your logical mind will want to override what you receive.
Don’t give yourself a hard time if you turn away from a sign when it first shows up. We all talk ourselves out of prompts. It may take us years to remove ourselves from a harmful relationship, in spite of feeling knots in our stomach every time we see them. It may take us months to sign up for a course that intrigues us, even though we think of it at least once a week.
