Self Respect

Last month I wrote about self love and that remembering we are love at our core is a fundamental part of the spiritual journey.  This month I want to write about a close cousin — self respect.

Self respect is when we refuse to put ourselves down, even if we’re not in top form.

Self respect is when we honor what our body is telling us, even if it’s inconvenient.

Self respect is when we listen to our own intuition and insights, even if direct answers are elusive.

Self respect is when we allow ourselves to go towards what we enjoy, even if we are also bound by obligations.

Self-respect is when we hold boundaries with others, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Self respect is when we trust our own judgement about a situation or a person, even if it goes against what others say.

We don’t have to be mean or ugly about it, or shout or stomp around about it.

We only have to be clear in our self knowing.

We only have to respect our Self above all else.
